Compliance & Reporting Tax Manager (0209)

The Role

We are looking for a tax manager to manage our outsourced UK tax compliance and internal tax reporting and provide tax support to the business. You will be working in a small and highly professional team in London.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the outsourced UK corporation tax compliance, including a review of the CFC position for all subsidiaries, and dealing with HMRC correspondence.
  • Producing reports and analysis to allow senior business management to understand the monthly tax charge.
  • Analysis to support tax disclosure in annual group financial statements.
  • Quarterly review of group global financing positions looking at all aspects including capitalisation levels, withholding taxes, thin cap, interest restriction and treaty clearances.
  • Review and submission of VAT returns and managing the conversion to Making Tax Digital.
  • Managing the collation of information to produce the group’s Country by Country Report and managing the XML conversion and submission process.
  • Managing the preparation of the group’s transfer pricing Masterfile and supporting the Business Units in the production of transfer pricing documentation.
  • Liaising with businesses and HMRC to ensure that certificates of tax residence are obtained to meet business needs.
  • Manage the collation and submission of employee taxes returns (PSA and STBVA)
  • Supporting local finance teams as they deal with tax audits.
  • Involvement in ad hoc restructuring and corporate finance projects.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant or Chartered Tax Advisor with a minimum of two years PQE in tax
  • Interest and ability to learn new areas of tax and new developments in tax legislation 
  • Self motivated with the ability to work on their own, but be able to seek help when required
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Competent with all standard PC software

Established in 1783, ED&F Man is an employee-owned agricultural commodities merchant with 6,000 people in 60 countries and annual revenue in excess of $8bn.  We trade sugar, coffee, molasses, animal feed and pulses. We help our counterparties manage price risk through hedging and provide access to commodity and capital markets through our brokerage business.

We source, store, process, ship and distribute agricultural products including sugar, coffee, molasses, animal feed, grains and pulses. Each year we trade 11m bags of coffee, 11m tonnes of sugar and 6m tonnes of animal feed. We work closely with our customers and suppliers and help our counterparties manage price risk through hedging.
