Finance Analyst (0206)

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to be a key member of the Capital Markets Finance team based in the London Office, that would suit a recent Accounting/Finance graduate who has had some work experience in an accounting role in a similar business. 

A large part of the role involves the production of Daily P&L reports across a diverse range of Financial Products, including:

  • Futures and Options
  • Foreign Exchange
  • Commodities (particularly Metals)

Additionally, you will be involved in the preparation and submission of regulatory reports on a daily basis and as required.

This role also involves being an integral part in the analysis and development of existing reports and processes (both in relation to regulation and general finance), as applicable.


  • Preparation of Daily P&L reports across a diverse range of business lines.
  • To analyse monthly data, investigating variances and resolving discrepancies
  • To develop constructive working relationships with the relevant front office desk heads and to hold meetings with them to discuss monthly management accounts in detail
  • To develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the income streams and costs in relation to the various Capital Markets businesses
  • To act as a BAU liaison with IT to assist with the development of reports or systems, as required, for the Finance department
  • To assist in the preparation of the daily back office system reconciliations
  • To assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory returns
  • To cover for members of the Finance team (both for accounting and regulatory tasks) during their absence or unavailability, as required
  • To assist in the annual internal and external audit processes, as required
  • To address any ad-hoc issues

Skills & Qualifications

  • Excellent IT skills particularly the ability to extract, manipulate and analyse data sets using Excel and Access
  • Knowledge of VBA preferable
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS preferable
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential
  • Experience of working within a commercial and fast paced environment
  • Financial Services industry experience preferable
  • Knowledge of UK and EU regulatory framework preferable
  • Knowledge of VAT preferable
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and to meet every deadline
  • Motivated and flexible team player
