Listed Derivatives Operations Manager (0184)

The Role

To manage multiple teams that support MCM’s agency execution business of exchange traded derivatives. Diverse management role overseeing post execution activities for MCM’s agency execution business from allocation to invoicing. Responsible for the oversight of MCM global brokerage collection process.


Duties to include, but are not limited to:

Oversight of the global financial futures middle office team where the team will be engaged in;

  • Management of static data between order management systems and middle office systems
  • Oversight and management of post trade allocations
  • Trade reconciliations
  • Error account monitoring
  • Liaising with e-trading support on set-up of new brokers and direct market access trading clients
  • Liaising with Exchanges on upgrades and new products developments
  • Liaising with MCM’s third party brokers and clearers to ensure and maintain high quality services

Oversight of Aged Debt management where the team will be engaged in;

  • Providing assistance to the Front Office and Documentations teams to on board new relationships.
  • Management of the static data set up in both internal and external systems
  • Recording of daily volume against the correct parties for billing
  • Creation and distribution of invoices post month end reconciliations
  • Making calls to debtors to establish the reason for non-payment.
  • Logging the result of all calls made.
  • Investigation of trade discrepancies that may be preventing payment.
  • Prioritising calls to debtors.
  • Escalating disputes to management where applicable
  • Provision of regular reports to brokers detailing outstanding debt for their clients and appropriate aging.
  • Allocation of funds received to the appropriate debtor accounts on a timely basis.

Oversight of Payables where the team will be engaged in;

  • Trade capture of all trades executed externally and claimed by MCM.
  • Processing invoices received and raising payments once reconciled.


Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven management experience
  • Extensive listed derivatives operations experience gained at Investment Bank or Broker
  • Knowledge of TEO, LISA, GMI, Atlantis, DOCS and GPS would be advantageous
  • Self-motivated and good interpersonal skills essential
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and manage staff
