Finance Co-Ordinator, Technology (0162)

The Role

Sitting within the Technology team within ED&F Man, this position is responsible for the coordination and completion of all finance activities for the Technology and London Facilities teams.


  • Producing monthly financial forecast analysis for Technology and Management Committee meetings.
  • Regular reporting and reconciliations e.g. cost recharges and cost against budget progress, and any ad-hoc reports as required.
  • Maintaining a register of supplier contracts and tracking spending with each supplier
  • Tracking project costs against budget (both capital expenditure & operational expenditure) for the Technology and Facilities teams.
  • Preparing monthly project status reports for the Technology and Management Committees by collating status reports from project managers, checking for consistency and combining.
  • Attending monthly Technology budget meetings, following up on questions or action points.
  • Managing and raising Purchase Orders for the Technology and Facilities teams.
  • Allocating and managing project codes.
  • Processing invoices, received directly or via an online supplier portal, for prompt payment.
  • Dealing with queries from suppliers third parties on orders, invoicing or payments.
  • Managing the recharging of costs to other business units or departments.
  • Organising and co-ordinating Technology leadership meetings and events, Technology Townhalls and other key meetings.
  • Assisting with activities and documentation related to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  • Identifying opportunities to automate and improve processes where appropriate.
  • Other Technology and Facilities administration tasks as appropriate that may arise from time to time.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven finance, co-ordination and administration skills.
  • Previous experience of creating financial reports is essential.
  • Previous experience of purchase order and invoice processing desirable.
  • Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously.
  • Able to adapt to changing circumstances effectively.
  • Exceptionally self-motivated, directed and detail-oriented traits.
  • Excellent customer facing, interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.

Established in 1783, ED&F Man is an employee-owned agricultural commodities merchant with 7,000 people in 60 countries and annual revenue in excess of $10bn.  We trade sugar, coffee, molasses, animal feed, grains and pulses. We help our counterparties manage price risk through hedging and provide access to commodity and capital markets through our brokerage business.

We source, store, process, ship and distribute agricultural products including sugar, coffee, molasses, animal feed, grains and pulses. Each year we trade 11m bags of coffee, 11m tonnes of sugar and 6m tonnes of animal feed. We work closely with our customers and suppliers and help our counterparties manage price risk through hedging.
