Treasury Support (0155)

The Role

The principal objective of the Group Treasury function is to manage liquidity and interest rate risks on behalf of the ED&F Man Group by centrally coordinating relationships with banks, borrowing requirements, trade finance, foreign exchange requirements, and cash management. Other responsibilities include management of the Group’s cash resources and structure of borrowings, monitoring of all significant treasury activities undertaken by the Group, and monitoring banking loan covenants to ensure continued compliance.

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive person who can provide support to the Group Treasury team responsible for sourcing working capital and managing bank relationships, and the trade finance team in the issuance, administration and payment of trade finance products, reporting of management information and the preparation and execution of Corporate Guarantees. 


  • Collating, reconciling, controlling and reporting bank facility usage/ divisional cash and contingent usage
  • Processing of letters of credit/documentary collections and associated payments
  • Issuance, administration and reconciliation of Corporate Guarantees
  • Preparing agenda items for the Banking Committee and Treasury Board meetings
  • Drafting Board Resolutions in coordination with the Legal department
  • Collation of Know Your Customer (KYC) documentation
  • Administering internal credit limits for Group entities
  • Providing administrative support for bank credit facilities

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong commercial acumen with analytical and numerical skills
  • Experience with letters of credit/documentary collection preferable
  • Can work independently and display a willingness to learn with an entrepreneurial approach to help offer solutions to issues that arise. A flexible, motivated and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working in a proactive manner and on their own initiative
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, ability to communicate confidently at all levels.
  • The successful individual must be highly organised, capable of managing a varied workload smoothly and efficiently, whilst possessing the ability to work both on their own and as a valued member of a busy team
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are key attributes for this position
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including, but not limited to, MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

Who We Are

Established in 1783, ED&F Man is an employee-owned agricultural commodities merchant with 7,000 people in 60 countries and annual revenue in excess of $10bn.  We trade sugar, coffee, molasses, animal feed, grains and pulses. We help our counterparties manage price risk through hedging and provide access to commodity and capital markets through our brokerage business.

We source, store, process, ship and distribute agricultural products including sugar, coffee, molasses, animal feed, grains and pulses. Each year we trade 11m bags of coffee, 11m tonnes of sugar and 6m tonnes of animal feed. We work closely with our customers and suppliers and help our counterparties manage price risk through hedging.
