The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified candidate to work for a reputed Financial Services firm. The Accountant will be working as part of the existing Finance team, reporting to the EMEA CFO.


  • To contribute to month-end and year-end accounting processes
  • To assist in the preparation of the daily back office system reconciliations
  • To assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns, including partial exemption calculations
  • To assist in the preparation and submission of reports to the Group Treasury department
  • To cover for members of the Finance team (both for accounting and regulatory tasks) during their absence or unavailability, as required
  • To assist in the annual internal and external audit processes
  • To address any ad-hoc issues

 Skills & Qualifications

  • Newly-Qualified Accountant
  • Excellent IT skills particularly with VBA, Excel and Access
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential
  • Experience of working within a commercial and fast paced environment
  • Financial Services industry experience preferable
  • Knowledge of UK and EU regulatory framework preferable
  • Knowledge of VAT preferable
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and to meet every deadline
  • Motivated and flexible team player
